I recommend this free software download from Google:
Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized.
Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello™, and even post pictures on your own blog.

Dear Chief Broken Wind, thank you for remembering to put this on your blog
!
Picasa is great. While I was down loading it, I wondered how I would transfere all my pictures to it, but the pop up offered to do it for me and the process was completed quickly. The only problems are that the date was 2-3 years off sometimes and I can’t figure out how to merge two existing folders without putting individual pictures on the "tray" and moving them to the new folder. Chief Broken Wind, if you have suggestions I’m watching the breeze!
Well, I decided to check out Picasa and ended up downloading it. Now my problem is this…..I use to have all my photos in my Kodak Easy Share file and now after transferring all my pictures to Picasa they are no longer there which is okay I guess I I can ever figure out how to share my photos with my children. I usually receive a pop up window that says that my file is too large or it is not compatible with AOL. I just haven’t had time to work with it or make a few phone calls to see what I’m doing wrong. Have ya’ll had this problem also? Maybe I just need you Steve to come down here to Texas and straighten me out.
